The Virtual Backpack is a convenient way to provide parents and students with important information and materials that would traditionally be sent home in a physical backpack. By hosting electronic versions of flyers, notes, and resources on the Jersey 100 website, parents and students can easily access and refer to these materials without the need for physical papers.
The organization of folders for each school allows parents and students to find the relevant information for their specific school quickly. Given that this is a new initiative, we will be adding information gradually as the school year progresses.

Staff at East Elementary participated in an after-school professional development titled "Brain Breaks" facilitated by Christine Craddock from IESE,(Illinois Elevating Special Educators, an initiative that aims to improve special education in Illinois.

Fourth-grade students participated in a week-long program named BJC Buddies. This program is designed for students to learn about the importance of communication, friendship, and other life skills in preventing bullying. The pictures are of students participating in a friendship bingo activity.
