Congratulations to the 2022 winners of the James "Jimmy" R. Fosha Scholarship. Jimmy attended JCHS and was an active community member. Upon his passing in 1999, this memorial scholarship has been given to seniors each year and has given away more than $200,000 over the years. This year's winners were Emma Williams, Collin Jones, Garret Smith, Anne Walker, Carlie Turner, Cody Croxford, Hope Brandt, Andrew Platto, Kyndal Price and Reagan Reynolds. Congrats!


Sending a shout-out to everyone who participated in the Reading In The Park program this summer! We had so much fun each week! Many people worked together to make this program happen, and because of that, we feel it was a huge success! Students, parents, guest readers, and reading coaches, we thank you! JCHS would like to welcome Lauren Waymire as our new Guidance Counselor! Mrs. Waymire will be servicing JCHS students with last names Q-Z. We are excited to have her as a part of school counselor team!


JCHS Volleyball Tryouts (Grades 9-12) will be held MONDAY, August 8 from 10:30-12:30 and TUESDAY , August 9 from 9:00-11:00 in the gymnasium at JCHS.

The final Reading in the Park had to be moved inside Grafton Elementary because of rain, but that did not dampen the summer fun. Thank you to the guest readers, students, parents, reading coaches, Dr. Kate Sievers and the Jersey County Arts Council for making this program a success.

We had a wonderful time in Grafton today! A big thank you to Mrs. Brown for reading, the Jersey County Arts Council for helping us make our own octopus puppets, and the Jerseyville Public Library for bringing Clifford for a visit.

In observance of Independence Day, the Jersey 100 District Office will be closed Monday, July 4th.


Jersey Community Hospital is putting on a Healthcare Career Camp for students going into 7th – 11th grade! This is a great opportunity for students interested in the healthcare field to get some shadowing experience in the ER, Lab, Radiology, and many more departments! A speaker in each area will be sharing the different careers within each department and education requirements.


The JCHS Panther Volleyball team recently held an awesome camp for students. The participants worked hard and learned a lot about the sport. We are proud of our current and future Panthers!





It was a perfect day for Reading in the Park. Tim Harmon, a firefighter for JFD (Clifford), and Mrs. Lisa Beuttel (Beautiful Oops) were our guest readers today. Thank you to the Jersey County Arts Council for coordinating the art project. We had approximately 75 kids today! The next Reading in the Park will be July 13 at Red Hawk Park in Grafton.
