The JCHS Book Club, in conjunction with the BtB after school enrichment program, is back for its second year! Led by JCHS librarian Mrs. Leslie, these students and staff members enjoy reading and discussing a variety of books, as well as building deeper connections to the world, within themselves, and with each other.
The first book they are reading this year is on the 2024 Illinois Teen Readers' Choice Lincoln Award list. Book club members hope to continue to read books from this list in order to participate in the statewide readers' choice vote later in the Spring. The award and program is named after former President Abraham Lincoln, with a goal to encourage teens to read and become lifelong readers.
