What a wonderful way to wrap up an incredible year of reading! 📚☕ The JCHS Book Club, led by JCHS librarian Mrs. Leslie, held its final meeting of the year at Germania Brew Haus after spending the school year meeting weekly to share their love of books and reading together.

This amazing group of students and staff read and discussed six different books, completed two creative book bedazzling projects, made pressed flower bookmarks, participated in the Somewhat Virtual Book Club and Zoomed with other high school book clubs, attended the JCMS author visit, and voted for their favorite title for the 2026 Illinois Teen Readers’ Choice Award.

More than anything, these students are building the meaningful lifelong habit of reading for pleasure, learning from one another through thoughtful discussions, and creating lasting friendships along the way. Thank you to everyone who made this year’s book club such a success! 💙
