Last week, several members of the JCHS Book Club wrapped up their final meeting of the school year with a field trip to the newly renovated Jerseyville Public Library. The club, founded three years ago by JCHS librarian Mrs. Leslie, reads multiple books throughout the year and meets regularly to discuss them. During the visit, JPL Director Judy Pruitt provided a personalized tour of the entire facility and shared insights into its historical background.

Today, East Elementary held its annual Kickball Tournament for 4th graders. All students demonstrated exceptional sportsmanship and supported one another from the sidelines. In an impressive display of teamwork, Mrs. Margherio's class secured the championship title for the third consecutive year. Mrs. Gray's class finished in second place, while Mrs. Brunaugh's class proudly claimed third place.
JCHS students in College & Career Readiness and Vocational Education had the opportunity to volunteer for Community Day at East Elementary. Fun was had and connections were made.

Last week some of our Spanish classes were able to try out their new Spanish language skills in a total immersion dining experience thanks to two beloved community partners Los Tres Amigos and Casa Tequila. We would like to thank these amazing local businesses who gave our students authentic Spanish speaking experiences in our own hometown! We had great food, a fantastic time and an unforgettable language learning experience! Son increíbles!

Jersey 100 7th and 8th grade track and field teams competed today at sectionals in Gillespie Illinois.
All athletes gave a great effort and many achieved their PR-personal record.
The following students qualified for the state competition:
7th grade boys:
Grayson Mangara- High Jump- 1st place, 1.6 meter (PR)
& 110 Hurdles- 2nd place- Qualifying time
7th grade girls:
Payton Reisch- 200 meter dash, 1st place
Stella Egelhoff, Evelyn Hughes, Lyla Blackburn, and Payton Reisch- 4 x 100 relay race, 1st place
Ashlyn Weldon- shot put- 1st place (PR)
Kenzi Schulte- shot put- 3rd place, qualifying distance
The 7th grade girls finished second place overall and the 7th grade boys team finished fifth overall.
State qualifiers will head to the state competition later this week! 💙
