Ag Woods 8th Grade Drone Simulation
Mrs. Nichol’s Ag Woods 8th-grade students explored agriculture careers connected to drone technology this week. Students learned about the use of drones in modern farming and then applied their skills in a hands-on simulation.
A mock orchard was created, and students coded their drones to hover above each tree, “spray” it, and then land on the trailer. To succeed, they had to measure precisely, double-check their work, and adjust their code until the drone flew the exact pattern they designed.
The best part was the excitement the students showed when their code worked correctly and the drone completed the task. It was inspiring to watch them practice real-world problem-solving, coding, and precision skills while connecting technology to agriculture.

Happy School Custodian Appreciation Day!
Today is all about celebrating our incredible custodial team! They are the first ones here and often the last to leave, quietly ensuring our schools are safe, functional, and ready for learning every single day. Their dedication never goes unnoticed.
Please take a moment today to thank a custodian—a kind word goes a long way! #CustodianAppreciation #Thankful #SchoolFamily #MakingADifference

Information for Jersey Jr. Panthers Wrestling has been placed in the East Elementary and Grafton Elementary Virtual Backpacks! The program, which is sponsored by the JCHS and JCMS Wrestling teams, serves as the foundation for early development in the sport in 2nd - 4th grades.
As October is National Principals Month, we are using this opportunity to spotlight our building leaders.
Mrs. Mindy Woelfel, Grafton Elementary
What was your favorite subject when you were in school? My favorite classes were always the ones that involved business and accounting. I loved learning how things work behind the scenes and understanding the numbers.
What’s something about you that students might be surprised to learn? Students might be surprised to learn that when I'm not at school, I love spending time on the river and boating. It's a great way to unwind and recharge.
What’s your go-to snack or drink during the school day? Green tea and coffee
If you could give one piece of advice to students, what would it be? My advice would be to be kind, work hard, and never stop learning. These three things will serve you well no matter what path you choose in life.
What’s your favorite part of being a principal? The best part of my job is the energy and creativity of the students. Every day is different, and I get to be inspired by their curiosity and resilience. I love seeing the world through their eyes—it keeps me grounded and reminds me why we do what we do.
Thanks, Mrs.Woelfel, for being a wonderful leader and mentor to your Panthers!

Safe Food Specialist, Mrs. Linda Petterson, was a week-long guest instructor in Nutrition & Culinary Arts classes at JCHS. Students then took the Safe Food Handler's Exam. We have noticed a genuine shift in the confidence of the 70+ students who earned this valuable employability certification.
If your place of employment is hiring and would like us to advertise to our students at JCHS via email, we are happy to do so!

We're so excited to announce our new Kindness Rock Garden! We invite all West Elementary families to join the fun. Grab a rock from our garden, decorate it with a positive message or design, and return it to help our garden grow. It's a great way to spread kindness and leave a lasting mark on our school!
