Students at West Elementary extend a HUGE thanks to the Jersey 100 Foundation. Each year, our schools receive a generous grant from the foundation. This year, we were able to use our funds to invite the artisans from Mississippi Mud Pottery to help each kindergarten and first grade student make their own piece of pottery. This is the second year for this activity and the students absolutely love it! Thanks so much Jersey 100 Foundation!!!
First grade students at West Elementary celebrated
"Week of the Young Child" with some very exciting activities. First grade students participated in a book swap. Students brought in gently used books and each student got to choose a book to take home. First grade students also celebrated "Work It Wednesday " where students dressed up as what they want to be when they grow up.

Congratulations to the JCHS Jazz Ensemble for their performance this past Friday at the SIUE Essentially Ellington Festival. Outstanding Musicianship awards went to Abigail Stephens on Vibes, Ellie Huitt on Trumpet, and Kirsten Hetzel on lead Alto.
Mrs Goetten’s class celebrated America’s favorite sport, BASEBALL! Even the learning centers in the room focused on important kindergarten skills while incorporating baseball. This class sure makes a great Panther team! #GoJerseyPanthers
