Spring athletes, per IHSA rules, you can't practice or compete with your club team if it's the same sport your are currently participating in. Example: JCHS softball ladies can't practice or compete with their club softball team.
All JCHS Extracurricular Activities, beginning Tuesday, March 17,2020 are "postponed" through at least March 30, 2020. This includes all practices, games, and events.

Due to Principia College restricting fans and a number of participating schools choosing not to participate, the JCHS Winter Thaw indoor track meet scheduled for Saturday, March 14, 2020 has been cancelled. There are no plans to reschedule.
JCHS Career &Technical Education teachers are preparing their students for jobs of the future through hands on learning. CTE teachers from surrounding high schools were invited to tour all JCHS has to offer today. The teachers toured our impressive agriculture, automotive, business, computer, culinary, drafting, machining, textiles & design, and woods classes.
If you know an incoming freshmen please guide them to check out all the great classes CTE has to offer. Industrial orientation would be a great class to help your child discover their passion.
JCHS Jazz Ensemble and the Lewis & Clark Community College Music Department are teaming up again this year for a combined concert! Join in on the FREE fun April 6!

The JCHS Scholastic Bowl Team falls to Alton in the Regional Championship. The team had an amazing season finishing with a record of 20-9. Congrats to the team and Coach Brunaugh on an awesome year!

More from the Solo & Ensemble Contest: JCHS recieved two "Best of the Day" Awards: Charlie Simcox on his Percussion Solo, and William Beauchamp, Hunter Egelhoff, Gabe McPheeters, Caden Schroeder, and Tyler Welsh for their Bass Ensemble.
JCHS Band and Choir Students competed this weekend at IHSA Solo & Ensemble in Carlinville. 71 entries from JCHS competed: 26 received an Excellent Rating, 42 received a Superior Rating. Great job by all!
The JCHS Academic Challenge Team took 2nd place on Friday! The team has now qualified for state. JCHS won several individual medals, most notably: Josh Wilkinson won 1st in both Math and Computer Science.
Jersey County Health Department Staff will be at JCHS on March 11 for Juniors needing the Meningitis Vaccination required for next school year. Forms are in the JCHS office. Please contact the office if you have any questions!
Our words need fixed..... good thing our kindergartner doctors were there to make them all better!! The students in Mrs. Furl, Mrs. Hermans, and Mrs. Madson classes did a great job repairing word. Thank you Mrs. Smith for planning this great learning activity.
JCMS 5th grade students enjoy learning in the dark during glow day. Students in Mrs. Herkert, Mrs, Brady, Mrs, Egelhoff and Mrs. Evans rooms were glowing all day during Glow day.
In math, the kids did a CSI Whodunit activity. They had to solve equations involving multiplication of fraction and whole numbers. Based upon their answers, they were given clues to find out who committed the crime, where, and with what.
In ELA, students rotated between three stations. They sorted different cards into author’s purpose, identified text structures of two passages, and responded to comprehension questions after reading “The Science of Glow Sticks.”
