Mrs. Galeana's JCHS Child Development Class came to visit Ms. Anderson and Mrs. Eickoff's afternoon Pre-K Class at West. The JCHS students were able to learn how preschool functions and how children learn during center time and gross motor time.

Today, the first graders at West had a special visit from a beekeeper, Julie McKinney, who taught them all about the amazing world of bees. The students were excited to learn how the hive works and why bees are so important. This lesson on pollinators coincides perfectly with their plant unit. They even got to see real bees up close in an observation hive and even had a chance to taste fresh honey! It was a fun and educational experience that left everyone buzzing with excitement!

Woohoo! Let's give a massive round of applause for Kylee Gray! 🥳 She has reached an incredible 800 reading steps! Grafton Elementary is beaming with pride for you, Kylee! Keep up the fantastic reading! 🌟

Over the past week, West Elementary has hosted six "Spring In To Reading with a Special Friend" events! All kindergarten and first grade students were able to invite a grandparent or special friend to visit our building. Students and guests read a book together in our cafetorium and then visited classrooms. It was a wonderful week!
