JCHS Volleyball
The Lady Panthers ended their season on a high note with victories over the Piasa Birds. Both JV & Varsity won in two games. Seniors were also recognized: Sydney Gillis, Sally Hudson, Boston Talley, Elizabeth Strebel, & Abigail Droege.

Jersey County Against Drugs and JCHS welcomed local law enforcement this week to promote safe driving for their "Don't Text and Drive" initiative.
The kindergarten classes at West Elementary celebrated Earth Day yesterday with some extra special goodies! Bayer donated t-shirts, goodie bags, tomato plants, and milkweed plants for each student in kindergarten! It was so nice to teach our students about the importance of taking care of Earth while using hands-on materials. A HUGE "Thank You" goes out to our friends at Bayer!
Happy Earth Day! 🌎 In effort to spread joy, students are hiding Kindness Rocks around our county to spread joy on our piece of the planet. If you spot a rock, we hope it brings a smile to your face!😊 We encourage you to move the rock to another LOCAL location or just let it be!
JCMS 5th grade students and teachers had an awesome day of learning as they celebrated Earth Day! Guest speakers from Pere Marquette and The Nature Institute came to teach students all about wildlife and conservation. Students also participated in activities throughout the day to reinforce these values. It was a great day to be a JCMS 5th grader!
JCMS Track opens the season at the Patriot Games in Wood River tonight. Your Panthers had a great performance - finishing 2nd place overall with many 1st place events!
JCHS Volleyball:
Varsity and JV Teams each beat Carrollton in two sets. Freshman played two sets and split them with the Hawks.
The JCMS Panthers wrestling team held their intra-squad scrimmage tonight. The wrestlers officially open their season on Wednesday at Petersburg PORTA.
The East Elementary fence had been yarn bombed! This cheery masterpiece is a collaboration between Mrs. Heitzig’s Design students, Mrs. DeSherlia’s 2nd graders. A special thank you goes out to community members Michelle Scharfenberg and Brandy McCoy who created crochet pieces to accompany the efforts of JCHS Students, and all those who donated yarn to this project too!
Girls Soccer: JCHS vs Hillsboro
The Panthers battled the Toppers to a 3-2 victory. Sommer Parker had the game-clinching goal in the final minutes.

Parents - and students - enjoyed today's JCHS Band Department's Spring Concert. Jazz Combo, Jazz Ensemble, 8th Grade Band, Concert Band, & Symphonic Band performed Sunday afternoon. What a joy it was to have music in the school!

At JCHS this evening, the FFA celebrated its End of the Year Banquet. Members were recognized for their many successes and Seniors hung up their jackets for the final time.
