JCHS hosted a heartfelt ceremony to honor the courageous individuals presently serving or who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces. This event has evolved into a cherished tradition in Jersey 100, and the outstanding efforts of JCHS students and staff were truly commendable. We extend our sincere gratitude to our guest keynote speaker, Dr. Lori Hopkins, and would like to acknowledge Dr. Jason Brunaugh, Mr. Brad Kimble, Ms. Margaret Bear, Mrs. Erin Bittles, as well as the dedicated staff and students at JCHS for their unwavering commitment to making this event a reality. Additionally, we wish to express our deep appreciation to all the Veterans and their families who joined us in celebrating this special occasion. It is our privilege to honor each and every one of you!

On Halloween, the JCHS National Honor Society hosted a dress-up day and costume contest as part of their Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF project. Students and staff were encouraged to “Add some meaning to their Halloweening.” by donating at least $1. In addition, several NHS members also went door to door that night to trick-or-treat for spare change. All donations will help the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) respond to crises, deliver vaccines, and ensure education in 190 countries and territories. Winning costumes were chosen in the following categories: best group, best duo, funniest, most creative, and best look-a-like. In total, NHS raised over $400 in donations.

Miss Charli brought in “monster reading buddies” to Mrs. Goetten’s class. Charli is a senior in the TEACH program at JCHS. She made each monster by hand to showcase each of the kinders personalities. They were so excited to take them home!!!!

JCHS Seniors attended a campus tour at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. The library, fitness center, classrooms, and food court were some of the highlights. Katie Green, JCHS 1998 graduate, coordinated this "student perspective" event for our upcoming graduates. Thank you, Katie, for going out of your way to coordinate this tour for our large group!
