
A few weeks ago, Ms. Kolkmeyer's Advanced Adobe students were asked to design a new logo for the US Army Recruitment office. Today, Gracie Kodros was presented with an award when SSG Dillon Janecke came to class to congratulate her on her chosen design. Congratulations, Gracie.



JCHS ScoreZone 3/26/24
Girls Track competed in the Freeburg Invite. The Panthers took 1st place with 107 points! The following students won their events; Abby Fraley (3200m), Neely Goetten (110 Hurdles), Megan Stewart (Triple Jump), Annabelle Yamnitz (100m and Long Jump), Morgan Allen (400m and High Jump), Abbie Benz (Discus and Shot Put) and our 4x400m and 4x800m Relay teams both finished in 1st place!
Boys Track competed in the Freeburg invite. The Panthers took 1st place! The following students won their events; Casey Borkowski (100m), Adam Kribs (110m Hurdles), Sean Steinacher (Shot Put). The 4x100 and 4x200 relay teams of Haden McGown, Aiden Tally, Cameron Judkins and Casey Borkowski also took 1st place!
Girls Soccer traveled to Mascoutah to open up MVC play. The Indians bested the Panthers by a score of 9-0.
Freshman Baseball traveled to Belleville East and beat the Lancers 7-6 in extra innings.
Varsity and JV Baseball hosted the Carlinville Cavaliers. The Panthers won both games. The Varsity score was 10-0 and the JV score was 5-3.
Softball was canceled due to unplayable field conditions at Staunton. Staunton was unable to travel to Jersey to play on our field.


Attention future kindergarteners--we want to "sign" you! If your student will turn five on or before September 1, 2024, we invite you to visit West Elementary for kindergarten screenings and have your very own "signing" day! Screenings are Thursday, March 28 at West for both West and Grafton students--it's not too late to make an appointment. Just call West Elementary between 7:30AM and 4PM to schedule your screening. Current Pre-K students do not need to make an appointment--we will conduct the screening process during their regular school day during the month of April.

There's still plenty of time! Next opportunity for LCCC registration day for incoming freshmen is Monday, April 8!


Today's JCHS Softball game at Staunton has been canceled due to unplayable field conditions and Staunton is unable to travel. Once a makeup date is determined, we'll add it to the schedule.


Today's JCHS Boys Tennis match is postponed due to forecasted rain and high winds. A rescheduled date is still to be determined.

JCHS ScoreZone: 3/22 and 3/23
JCHS Varsity Baseball hosted Metro East Lutheran on Friday. The Panthers defeated the Knights in 13-3.
JCHS Varsity Softball traveled to Gillespie on Friday. The Panthers dropped the game by a score of 1-8.
Casey Borkowski qualified for the Illinois Top Times Meet hosted by Illinois Wesleyan University on Saturday. Borkowski had a great showing against some of the states top runners by placing 7th in the 400m.
The JCHS JV Tennis team competed in the JV Alton Doubles Tournament on Friday. The Panthers finished in 2nd place! Congratulations to Christian Dugger and Ethan Dugger for going undefeated at #2 Doubles.
The JCHS Jazz Ensemble attended the SIUE Essentially Ellington on Friday. Eli Hetzel and Merris McDuffie were recognized for their musicianship at the final concert. JCHS students worked with some of the best musicians and jazz educators in the area!


Attention students and parents! No school on Thursday, March 28th, for Staff Professional Development, and schools will be closed from March 29th to April 1st for Easter Break. School resumes on Tuesday, April 2, 2024.
Enjoy the well-deserved time off!

JCMS Family Reading Night "Let's Glow Read!" We had an amazing night of fun, learning, and exploration at JCMS! Thank you to all of our staff, families, and students for making it an awesome event! Juniors and Seniors were offered the opportunity to tour LCCC Welding then UA Local 553, coordinated by JCHS graduate Mike Wittman. We ran into a former graduate at LCCC as well!
Thanks to the Calvin and Juanita Ritchey Whitlock Education Foundation, qualifying JCHS graduates who were born in Jersey County are eligible to receive a renewable tuition scholarship for LCCC! Applications are available at Jersey State Bank and JCHS Counseling Office!





A Weststar Aviation representative presented to our students regarding numerous career opportunities. ✈️
All students were invited to attend. Our captive audience included Mr. Schroeder's Auto II students so they could learn more about their Academy which is an apprenticeship opportunity in aviation mechanics.


Mr. Snyder's Advanced Construction students recently learned to hang, tape, and patch drywall. Students then put their skills to use by making drywall repairs in our main lobby. 👏



ScoreZone for 3/20/24
JCHS Boys Tennis traveled to Waterloo to take on the Bulldogs for a conference match. The Varsity team dropped their match with a result of 3-6. The JV team beat the Bulldogs 9-0.
JCHS Boys Track hosted Mascoutah, Highland and Madison. The Panthers finished 2nd with 55 points. Casey Borkowski finished 1st in the 100m and 200m. Aaron Hughes placed 1st in Pole Vault. Adam Kribs won the 110m Hurdles. Matt Bishop finished 1st in the 800m. Jack Deist was 1st in the 400m and Sean Steinacher finished 1st in Shot Put.
JCHS Varsity Softball traveled to Greenfield. The Panthers bested the Tigers by a score of 18-0.
JCHS Baseball had a busy day. The Freshmen team traveled to Taylorville and beat the Tornadoes by a score of 9-6. Varsity and JV hosted Alton. JV topped the Redbirds by a score of 15-4 and Varsity dropped a close one by a score of 11-9.
