Ms. Herkert's 5th grade class took charge of this month's student-led character assembly. Every aspect was the responsibility of the students. Their roles included: photographers/award planners, slide show/announcers, crowd control, video skit, and posters/decorators.

Students took pictures of character award winners using a green screen.
Students worked out strategies to help their peers pay attention during the assembly.
The students created the Google Slides presentation and developed the plan for the presentation of character awards.
The class invited Dr. Brunaugh to the assembly to talk to their peers about this month's character trait, RESPECT.

JCHS Culinary Classes we’re lucky enough to team up with the Army National Guard to compete in the Cooks and Camo Competition! Teams were challenged to create and present the best tasting and most appealing plate using Meals Ready to Eat (MREs) as the main dish and desert. Today, the winning teams from each class were recognized and presented with awards! Prospective Kindergarten Students--Call us!!! If you have a child who will be 5 years old on or before September 1st, 2019, and will be attending kindergarten in Jersey Unit School District #100 or if you have a friend or relative who has a child eligible to attend kindergarten, please call 498-4322 to schedule a Pre-Registration/Screening appointment. Parents and eligible students are required to attend Pre-Registration/Screening on Thursday, April 4th, or Tuesday, April 9th. The Pre-Registration/Screening will be held from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at West Elementary. Required items for kindergarten are: proof of residency, child’s legal birth certificate, recent physical (physical no older than 1 year prior to first day of school), immunization records, eye examination form and dental examination form.

Grafton Elementary had a fabulous STEAM Night! They built marshmallow and Lego towers. Learned about the Science behind dry ice. Had a flight simulator, real robots, and a virtual reality room where they were able to see how an architect makes virtual blue prints! Painting too!
