JCHS Welcomes Ms. Margaret Bear, our new vocal music teacher! Ms. Bear has performed at the professional level and has taught music in the private and public sector for the last ten years. "What I love about Jersey County and JCHS is the commitment to hard work!!! I always say to my out of town friends and visitors, "Jersey will welcome anyone with a good work ethic." I think the same can also be said of our fine arts program at the high school. The students really take the time to put in a full effort."


West Elementary thanks the Salvation Army! Mr. Richard Lott and Ms. Julie Goheen (pictured below) facilitated this generous donation of school supplies for our students! Thanks Salvation Army!

West Elementary welcomes the class of 2034!!! It's the first day for our Pre-K students and they are excited!

JCHS Welcomes Mrs. Sue Utgaard, our new Social Worker! Mrs. Utgaard was previously employed as the school social worker for the Carrollton School District for four years and experiences include employment as a social worker for DCFS, Lewis and Clark Community College, and the Roxana School District. "Thus far, I love the positive culture and professionalism at JCHS. As far as Jersey County, I believe you have the best movie theater and county fair! I've also become familiar with Dairyland, Express Yourself, and Second Time Around to name a few. Thank you for your warm welcome."


JCHS volleyball will have a Canned Food Drive Scrimmage on Thursday 8/22 at 6:00. You must bring a canned/nonperishable food item(s) to enter the game. All donations will be given to the local Salvation Army.

Our Panthers are PAWSITIVE at JCMS! These students were nominated by their teachers for going above and beyond to make JCMS an awesome place to learn!


7th grade is getting right to it...
Mrs. Isringhausen’s 7th grade STEM class tested their space survival skills by working together to rate the importance of supplies. They compared their scores to NASA’s ratings. Almost everybody survived the mission!
Students in Mrs. Goetten’s Literature classes are creating classroom expectations posters to present and post in the classroom.



It was a great first day at JCHS and awesome to see the kids again.

Autumn P. - A 5th grader at JCMS was nominated for the Pawsitive Panther Award by Mrs. Smilack for going out of her way to brighten another student's day!

JCHS Volleyball Tryouts are Monday, 8/12 (9-10:30), (12-1:30), & Tuesday, 8/13 (3:00-5:00). They will take place at the JCHS main gym.

West Elementary thanks Kyndle Stuckey! Kyndle is a 1st grader at Brighton North Primary & her mother, Chelsea Stuckey, is a Spanish teacher at JCHS. Kyndle had bake sale and used the proceeds towards school supplies that she donated to West and Brighton North Elementary.
