Mrs. Herkertś students worked on two social studies projects last week.
Students read about different land forms around the United States. They then created a poem about an explorer visiting different land forms. They chose to write it in either first person (they were the explorer) or third person.
Also, students read different passages about each of the Earth’s Systems - Hydrosphere, Atmosphere, Geo-sphere, Biosphere. They chose one system to create a poster to share with the class. Students had to draw and label 5 things found in their system, list a specific interaction with each of the other systems, and give 5 facts about it. Pairs/individuals presented these to the class to enhance comprehension of each of the systems.
