JCHS – Last week students from all Spanish classes studied Día de los Muertos, or Day of the Dead, a Spanish celebration of life and death. Part of the tradition is to celebrate with food, so our students headed to the kitchen for a hands-on lesson on how to make homemade tortillas, refried black beans and fried plantain chips! The kitchen was filled with lots of laughs, lots of yums and a few yucks! Fun was had by all! Thank you Miss Kallal, Mrs. Dwyer and Mrs. Rojas!

NATIONAL PRINCIPAL APPRECIATION MONTH… Each day this week for National Principal Appreciation Month, we will recognize our Jersey 100 Principals with some kind words from their staff! Cory Breden – Mr. Breden is a great principal for JCHS. He really cares about the students and staff. He has gone above and beyond to make our school a safe and welcoming place for staff and for students. --Genevieve Mossman Mr. Breden works diligently to ensure that our students are successful; consequently, every decision he makes considers what is in the best interest of our students. I appreciate that he sets yearly goals for himself and encourages his staff to openly communicate with him. -–Beth Morgan Mr. Breden is a born leader. He embodies the key characteristics that every teacher hopes their principal will possess. He is deliberative in his decisions--never hasty or "knee jerk". At the same time, he never shirks his responsibility to make the decisions that MUST be made for our school to improve with each passing day. Every decision that he makes is rooted in the philosophy: "What is best for our students at JCHS?" This sounds obvious, but it's not. Principals have so many factors to consider, and over time, it's very easy to lose focus on that central theme. Mr. Breden has never lost that focus. --Ben Gracey Thank you, Jersey 100, for showing your appreciation and support of all of our Principals! #GoJerseyPanthers #WhereKidsComeFirst
