Jersey Athletics Results for 8/30

August 30th was a busy night for Jersey Athletics.  Here are the results...

JCHS Girls Tennis handled Alton High beating them 9-0 at home.

JCHS Volleyball traveled to Carrolton for a Varsity and a JV match.  The Varsity team defeated the Hawks 3 sets to 1 while the JV team dropped their match.  The Varsity was led by Kari Krueger with 6 kills, 9 digs, 1 ace and 1 block.  Ashlyn Brown had a great night with 6 kills, 6 digs and 1 block.  Adrian Blasa contributed with 20 assists, 6 digs and 1 kill.  Grace Shalley tallied 6 kills, 1 block and 2 aces.  Kendal Davis had 11 digs and 4 aces.  The Panthers are now 4-2!

JCHS Boys Soccer beat Maryville Christian 4-0.  Goalie Brady Maxeiner recorded a shutout with 3 saves.  Alex Hubbel netted two goals including the game winner.  Keegan Griffith and Drake Goetten found the back of the net to record one goal each.  Logan Strong and Adam Kribs recorded an assist while Hunter Herkert assisted on two goals.    

The Boys Golf team hosted Roxana and East Alton-Wood River High School for a tri-match.  Jersey finished the night in 1st place!  The Panthers shot 196.  Logan Huitt finished the day with the lowest score in the field with a 48.  Adam Coffman and Bryce Becker were co-runners up with a score of 49 and Ethan Guilander shot a 51.  

The Girls Golf team traveled to Alton to play at Spencer T. Olin Golf Course.  They were matched up with Marquette and Civic Memorial.  Jersey finished in 2nd with a score of 204.  Bria Tuttle led the way for Jersey with a 45.

The Girls and Boys Cross Country teams traveled to Carlinville to run in the Carlinville Invite.  The Girls finished in 3rd place while the Boys placed 6th.  Top finishes for Jersey were Griffin Williams (4th place) and Taylor Woodring (6th place).  

JCMS Softball went on the road to play Calhoun.  It was an exciting game as the Panthers took the lead in the top of the 7th and held on to beat the Warriors by a score of 6-5.
