Welcome back to school

August 13, 2021

Jersey CUSD 100 Parents/Guardians:

Jersey CUSD 100 faculty, staff, administrators and School Board members would like to welcome everyone back to school for the 2021-2022 school year. Although it is not the typical start to school due to COVID-19, we are excited to get going! We want to assure you that we have taken precautionary measures in all aspects to create a safe learning environment for your children. We know that there are a lot of questions about what school will look like this year. Jersey CUSD 100 staff is here to support you and your children.

Jersey CUSD 100 District Administrators, School Board Members, Teacher Union Leaders, and local health officials have worked together to develop the attached reopening plan for the upcoming 2021-22 school year. This plan has been months in the making. It is a fluid plan that has changed several times as state mandates have changed. The plan is a culmination of practices that will assist in keeping students and staff safe while at school.

Jersey CUSD 100 has many “good things'' going on in the District this year! These include but are not limited to:

  • Two new initiatives this upcoming year: “Good Things at Jersey 100” (the communication initiative), and “Read Like a Panther” (reading initiative);

  • JCMS and East Elementary will be piloting the Capturing Kids’ Hearts social-emotional program;

  • 6-12 Math teachers will be implementing a new math curriculum; and

  • K-5 teachers will be implementing a new reading curriculum.

The District has also utilized grant funds to hire additional educators and support staff. It is a District goal to communicate with all stakeholders about all of the “good things” happening in our schools. Please make sure to download the Jersey 100 app, like us on Twitter and Facebook. Let's create more “good things” at Jersey CUSD 100!
