Fourth grade students spent the morning listening to community members who encouraged them to be safe, to be kind, and to keep reading this summer. Officer Portwood, Kathy Erwin from the Wellness Center and several firemen talked about the importance of safety. Kids enjoyed getting to hear from high student, Belle Blackorby, about a rock painting project that they can be a part of, and Beth Smilack from the Jerseyville Public Library shared all the exciting details about the summer reading program.
