Graduation Procedures
May 16, 2021
Jersey Community High School will honor our 2021 graduates with a ceremony on May 16, 2021 at 2:00 pm. The ceremony will be held at the Don Snyders Sports Complex.
Anyone who is experiencing the following COVID-19 symptoms should not attend the ceremony:

Face coverings will be required to attend the ceremony.
Each student will be allowed 6 guests. Jersey 100 will not be using tickets for this ceremony. We ask that you abide by this rule so we can all maintain appropriate social distancing.
Seating areas will be marked. Please make sure you sit in an area that is marked for seating and avoid areas that are not marked.
Graduation Practice
- Graduation Practice will be held on Friday, May 14 at 8:30 on the football field at the Don Snyders Sports Complex.
- Breakfast will be provided by Hardees.
- Graduates must attend practice to participate in Graduation.
- Masks will be required during Graduation practice.
Pre Graduation Ceremony
- Students will be asked to meet at JCMS between 12:30 pm and 1:00 pm.
- Parking is limited. If possible, please have someone drop your graduate off at the designated entrance.
- All Graduates will be required to wear masks.
- Graduates have been assigned an area to go to when entering JCMS based on their last name. To help with traffic, there will also be two points of entry based on your last name. A map has been provided at the end of this document.
- Secondary Gym - A - L (West side of building. Normal entrance to M.S. games.)
- Main Gym – M-Z (Front Entrance directly West of baseball diamond)
Walk from JCMS to Sports Complex
- Begin to assemble students in order at 1:30
- Graduates begin walking to Sports Complex at 1:45
- Will walk in pairs maintaining 3 ft. on all sides
- Graduates will enter the Sports Complex on the West side of the stadium.
Graduation Ceremony
- Students A - L will be seated on the East side of the football field.
- Students M - Z will be seated on the West side of the football field.
Guests
- The Sports Complex will open to guests at 1:00 pm.
- Seating is on a first come basis.
- Each graduate will be allowed 6 guests.
- Tickets WILL NOT be provided as JCHS will use the honor system.
- Home and Visitor Bleachers
- Seating will be limited to 20% capacity.
- Home Bleacher - 240 guests
- Visitor Bleachers - 120 guests
- Seating will be limited to 20% capacity.
- Football Field
- Seating will be available on the football field. Chairs will be provided and placed in groups of 6 so families can sit together.
- Handicap and those who have difficulty can sit on the track. Please bring your own chairs.
Face Coverings
- Graduates will be required to wear face coverings throughout the pre ceremony and during the ceremony.
- Graduates will be allowed to remove their face covering right before their name is called to walk across the stage and receive their diploma.
- Graduates should place their face covering back on when they return to their seat after receiving their diploma.
- Face coverings must meet the requirements of the JCHS Dress Code.
Lifetouch, our photographer partner, will be there to capture a picture as you walk across the stage. JCHS will purchase a 5X7 and send to the guardians address on file.
Parents and families will have time to take pictures with their graduate after the ceremony.
It is very important that you have someone drop you off at the middle school at the time listed above. Parking will be extremely limited with the current construction taking place at JCMS.
First Alternate Graduation Date – In case of inclement weather.
- Saturday, May 15 at 2:00 pm.
- All times in the JCHS Graduation Procedures would remain the same.
Friday is no longer an alternative date to host graduation outside. JCHS was only able to reserve the portable audio system needed to host graduation for Saturday and Sunday.
The decision to move the graduation date may take place as late as Friday, May 14. Please check our social media sites for updates the closer we get to graduation.
Graduation Procedure – Moving inside the Main Gymnasium at JCHS because of inclement weather or because the football field is unusable.
If the weather is poor or football field at the Don Snyders sports complex is unusable because of being extremely wet due to rain, the Graduation Ceremony will be moved to the main gym at the high school. JCHS will do everything we can to have graduation outside.
- Date: Sunday, May 16, 2021
- Time: 2:00 pm.
- Tickets: Each graduate would be allowed 2 guests if graduation was moved to the JCHS main gymnasium.
If moving the graduation inside becomes the best option, instructions will be sent to the students Jersey 100 email and the email address parents have on file with Jersey 100. There will also be a phone call to parents/guardians to communicate the change with a reminder to check emails for further instructions.
Graduates: Please meet at JCMS between 12:30 and 1:00 on the day of graduation.
2021 Graduate Entrances
Location: Jersey Community Middle School
Please try and make arrangements to have someone drop you off at JCMS. Parking will be extremely limited. The faculty parking lot will be unavailable to park in.
