Please stop by JCHS during conference times and meet with our teachers, get entered into drawings for a variety of awesome prizes, and grab a snack. Our media center will offer a book raffle and our guidance counselors are eager to meet with you as well. Please make sure to read the included announcement and we look forward to seeing you!
Times: November 7, 2023 from 4-7:30pm and November 8, 2023 from 4-7:00pm
JCHS will be hosting conferences during these times for any parent that would like to meet with teachers. Our doors will be open and we welcome any families to stop by to conference with our teachers but some may be reaching out to struggling students to schedule appointments. Please be on the lookout for special communication from our teachers.
If you are interested in trying to schedule a certain time, please reach out to your teacher to make that appointment. We will do our best to limit the conferences to no longer than ten minutes. If you feel you may need more time, we are happy to schedule an alternate time.
JCHS's School Counselors will be holding a Senior Parent Meeting on November 7th from 6-7:00pm in the Auditorium. Topics will include important steps to graduation, college applications, scholarships, and financial aid. A representative from ISAC (Illinois Student Assistance Commission) will also spend time discussing the FAFSA, or Free Application for Federal Student Aid.
The School Counseling Office will also be open both evenings (with the exception of 6-7pm during the Senior Parent Meeting on Tuesday) and counselors will be available for both walk-ins and by appointments to meet with parents.
8th Grade teachers will be reaching out to schedule conferences as a group and will try to give first priority to students that are failing multiple classes. All of our teachers will be available to meet with any family that would like to conference.
If you are unable to meet in person, please make sure to contact your teachers via email or call the JCHS office at (618) 498-5521 to leave a message for the teacher to call you. If necessary, they can set up a GoogleMeet for a virtual appointment or schedule an alternate time for an in-person or virtual conference.
Don’t forget to stop by the main office to meet with our administrative assistants to complete any paperwork or take care of any fees. They would love to assist you with anything you may need.

We will have a variety of refreshments for families including cookies, snacks, and drinks.
We also plan on offering family incentives for their attendance. For each conference they attend in person, they will receive a signature from the teacher. Each signature will be entered into a draw for a variety of prizes. When you stop by, please grab a map and sign-in sheet to gather your signatures. After conferences, you can drop the slip off in the main office.
Prizes may include: parking passes, panther gear, a 58" television, gift cards, and other items.
