In celebration of Nation Girls and Women in Sports Month (NGWSM), we are celebrating several of our student athletes participating in girls sports. Today, we will celebrate Jerra LaPlant. Jerra is a senior at JCHS and was a member of the JCHS Girls Golf team for four years. Jerra had a successful senior season including a top 10 finish at the MVC Tournament advancing to the IHSA Sectional Tournament.
Jerra's quote in celebration of NGWSM is, "I think it is very important for women to play sports so that little girls have role models to follow."
JCHS Girls Golf Coach, Beth Morgan, had this to add, "Title IX helped to equalize the playing field for female athletes. Being a female coach, it is incumbent upon me to maintain the efforts of those who fought so hard to establish these rights."
