Keri Lakin


Mrs. Lakin graduated from Southern Illinois University of Carbondale in 1996 with a Bachelor’s of Science in Special Education.  Mrs. Lakin is a qualified Learning Behavior Specialist, who has provided academic, behavioral, and differentiated instruction to students in grades kindergarten through 12.  Mrs. Lakin began her career as a special education teacher in 1996, teaching special education students in grades kindergarten through 8 for three years at Desoto Grade School.  In 1999, Mrs. Lakin was hired at Jersey Community High School as a special education teacher and has taught at JCHS for 17 years.  

Mrs. Lakin furthered her education by earning a Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction in 2006 from Nova Southeastern University.  In 2015, Mrs. Lakin completed the Principal Endorsement Program from Southern Illinois University of Edwardsville.  Mrs. Lakin was hired as Dean of Students in 2016 at JCHS. She then became the Jersey CUSD No. 100 Special Education Coordinator in 2017.
