Today we hear from Mrs. Heineman - Life Basics Educator at JCMS (Pictured above in 7th grade)
"From the time I entered school in kindergarten, I always wanted to be a teacher. I love school, and of course I loved when summer came, but when the school supplies started coming back in the stores, I was super excited and ready to get back to school. I couldn’t wait to find out who my teacher was going to be! I couldn’t wait to see all my friends and teachers. Well, after 25 years of teaching, I still have that excitement about going back to school. One of my favorite things to do is getting into my classroom a couple of weeks before school starts to set it up for the new year. Today, I got new desks in my classroom and it felt like Christmas! That first day back to school I’m so excited! I’m so excited to see all of the students and can’t wait to talk with them and reconnect for the new year. I love to welcome new students and help them learn their way around the building that I love so much. I told my husband the other day that I know when I am going to retire . . . when I lose this exciting feeling about getting back to school. Let's make sure to make it an awesome school year!"
