Chip Fabry graduated from Illinois State University in 1995 with a Bachelor’s degree in Special Education. He received his Master’s degree in Educational Administration from Governor’s State University in 2009 and Director of Special Education endorsement in 2012. Mr. Fabry began his teaching career at Pinecrest Elementary School as an elementary special education teacher in Sanford, Florida in 1995. In 1996 he moved to Illinois and accepted a position as a high school special education teacher at St. Coletta’s of Illinois, and was promoted to special assistant to the principal in 1998. In 2002, Mr. Fabry changed districts, taking on the role of special education teacher in Evergreen Park District 124. A few years later he returned to St. Coletta’s of Illinois as an elementary teacher for children with Autism. Mr. Fabry accepted a position as an elementary special education teacher at Helen Keller Elementary school in 2004 and remained in that position for six years before moving to Jerseyville in 2010, thrilled to be offered a position as a special education teacher at Jersey Community High School. This provided an opportunity for his wife to move back to her home. In 2013, he accepted the position of Dean of Students. Shortly after an opportunity was presented to take on the role of Special Education Coordinator, and he accepted the position in 2014. Mr. Fabry has been a supporter and coach for Illinois Special Olympics since 1992. He and his wife Christina reside in Jersey County.
